Poster Update Log: Alaska & Federal Poster

Overview

Alaska updated two required labor law notices: the Child Labor Law notice and the Employers Notice of Insurance posting. These updates impact workplace compliance for Alaska employers. *These notices were effective in March 2026, however were not released until later.

What Changed

The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development issued revisions to both Labor Law & Employers Notice of Insurance. While the Child Labor Law update includes administrative contact information changes, the Employers Notice of Insurance includes an important compliance revision regarding injury and illness reporting timelines.

Key Details Included in the Notices

  • Child Labor Law Notice:
The Juneau and Fairbanks office phone numbers listed at the bottom of the notice were updated.

                    -   Juneau and Fairbanks New Office Number: 2026 version: (907) 269-4900

  • Employers Notice of Insurance:

The employee notification requirement for reporting an illness or injury has been reduced from 30 days to 15 days.

  • Mandatory Posting Update:

This is considered a mandatory update effective March 2026. Employers with Alaska labor law posters should replace outdated postings to ensure ongoing compliance.

The updated section of the Employer's Notice of Insurance reads as follows:

"...(not later than 15 days from injury or death date)..."
