What Employers Need to Know

Louisiana has released its updated 2026 Earned Income Credit (EIC) notice, effective September 10, 2026. This mandatory posting informs employees they may qualify for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit based on their income, filing status, and number of qualifying children. Every Louisiana employer must display the current version of this poster in a conspicuous location under R.S. 23:15 and R.S. 23:1018.2.

What Changed

The 2026 notice raises the income eligibility thresholds across the board and adopts a new Louisiana Works branded design. Employers still displaying the 2025 version should replace it to stay compliant.

Minor Labor Law Placard:
Louisiana also made a minor update to its Minor Labor Law Placard. The placard now includes a web address where employers can obtain the required youth employment certificate, references to the Director of Workforce Development now read the Secretary, and the statute citation changed from R.S. 23:241 to R.S. 23:151 et seq.
