EFFECTIVE MAY 13, 2015
On February 12, the City of Philadelphia joined the nationwide paid sick leave trend when Mayor Michael Nutter signed the Promoting Healthy Families and Workplaces Ordinance (the Ordinance) into law. The Ordinance requires employers with 10 or more employees in the City of Philadelphia to provide paid and unpaid sick leave to eligible employees and is effective May 13. Employers must comply with this requirement by either supplying each of their employees with a notice; or displaying a poster in a conspicuous and accessible place in each establishment where such employees are employed.
For convenience, we have combined both the Pregnancy Discrimination notice effective January 2014 and the new Paid Sick Time notice as seen below. Both notices are required only for the City of Philadelphia.
