Need an Updated Indiana Poster?
What Employers Need to Know
Indiana updated two required workplace postings this year. Effective July 1, 2026, the state retired its Youth Employment System (YES) database under House Enrolled Act 1302, removing the registration and reporting requirement for employers of minors while leaving teen work hour and hazardous occupation rules untouched. Separately, in June 2026 the Indiana Civil Rights Commission released a redesigned Equal Employment Opportunity Is the Law poster with expanded harassment and complaint procedure information.
Here is what changed on each poster and where to find the current versions.
What Changed
Work Restrictions for Youth Employees
Effective July 1, 2026, Indiana employers are no longer required to register minor employees or report them through the state's YES portal. The Department of Labor has fully decommissioned the system, and the monetary penalties tied to missed reporting deadlines are gone as well. This change only removes an administrative requirement. The hour restrictions for 14 and 15 year old workers, and the list of hazardous occupations closed to minors, remain fully in effect.
Equal Employment Opportunity Is the Law
The Indiana Civil Rights Commission's redesigned EEO poster adds direct language on workplace harassment, outlines the complaint procedure, and calls out the 180 day deadline for filing a discrimination charge. It also reflects Indiana's current protected classes and adds a QR code linking to the ICRC's website.
